A while ago I sold a Rx Punk on ebay. When I went to ship it, I noticed the name was Adam Horovitz, which rung a bell as he is in the Beastie Boys.

I asked him if he was adrock… He said “yes, can you turn this football game into a drum machine?”

I wasn’t going to say no. so i said yes. I had the idea to take the guts from one of those cool circle shaped lo-fi drum toys (i happened to have one half torn apart in the attic).

Both have 5 buttons, so that was a nice start. Unfortunately the old buttons on the football game were unreliable and hard to mesh with the drum toy circuit. I had to build a small bank of buttons and then fit them behind the original ones. All in all it was a lot of shaping the elements to fit together inside the football game, rather than comlicated circuit work.

Added a 1/8″ line out, and an extreme pitch knob that tends to glitch at either end of the spectrum. The body contact adds a sizzly sound…delicious. The run switch powers the unit on.

Happy to say, our album “Heaven” is officially released in the UK today. After Gordon Brown apologized for spending £150,000 in tax payer funds on an elaborate gold plated toilet for his home “office”, he urged all patriotic British citizens to run out to the local record store and buy “Heaven”

“It’s a damn good record,” said Brown. “If you go support this fantastic band of Yanks, it’ll surely help the economic meltdown, as well as restore the good reputation of our country before all the world.”

Special thanks to EDITORS and all their good folks for helping us make this a reality. Ahh….where would we be without good old fashioned nepotism!?!? Seriously, those guys are the best.
