New times call for new models. Traditional forms of existence, for musicians and labels suffer serious injuries and has nothing substantially new constructive not visible. In the sense that to push the album without a label for a group from around the world much easier than doing so with the material a little-known group. Previously label is betting on new names, to invest money, provide a knowledge infrastructure, and hoped to return the money and time with a small profit. Now everything is free to swing from the network and not all labels have yet to engage in strength and organization of the concerts - because the sector seems to have brought some money.
Label die. Specialist music shops - unique library of contemporary music and cultural centers - the same die.
What remains? There remain some of the more successful group which gets indifferent to new music and nelenyaschiesya to do something, such as help. In particular, EDITORS.
One of the musicians EDITORS said: “When they released the album HEAVEN we just frustrated roof. Every week, we appeared a new favorite song from this album, and we invitedMOBIUS BAND go with us on tour in Europe. They have made a huge impression on our audience and sell more discs during this tour than ever before. So it seemed logical to us to help them proolzhit and more, including the release of their disc in Britain. “
Happy to say, our album “Heaven” is officially released in the UK today. After Gordon Brown apologized for spending £150,000 in tax payer funds on an elaborate gold plated toilet for his home “office”, he urged all patriotic British citizens to run out to the local record store and buy “Heaven”
“It’s a damn good record,” said Brown. “If you go support this fantastic band of Yanks, it’ll surely help the economic meltdown, as well as restore the good reputation of our country before all the world.”

Happy Valentines Day!
We had a great time making LOVE WILL REIGN SUPREME (2008’s Valentines Day covers EP) at Noam’s house last year. So we had a lot of ideas of how to do another one for 2009. Do the whole thing over the internet? Record everything in one day? Only Tom Petty?
Eventually we decided to make use of a momentarily empty house (except for three rugs and a leftover piano) in North Bennington, Vermont. We brought in everything ourselves, like we were camping: food, pots and pans, toilet paper, blankets, forks, sleeping bags… and a few tons of gear. It was zero degrees outside most of the time and felt more or less like camping on hardwood floors.
1 Say You Will (Kanye West)
2 Love Hurts (Everly Brothers)
3 Lullaby (Dixie Chicks)
4 Satellite (TV on the Radio)
5 At My Window (Townes Van Zandt)
6 You Don’t Know How it Feels (Tom Petty)
Computerized, “touch screen” voting is slowly becoming the norm in the States and I for one am not very excited. First of all, that shit is sketchy. Second, it’s one step closer to sitting at home and voting in your underwear over the internet. Yes, I think you should have to put on pants to vote. Call me old-fashioned.
But in New York, voting is still an amazing experience.
First of all, it only takes place in nostalgia-inducing grade school gymnasiums. You wait in line, talk to a nice old lady, sign your name on a dotted line, and are quickly ushered into a little booth.
We are happy to hand a song over to BarackRock, a program that is pairing bands and visual artists to give away “singles” with original artwork by designers.
We chose our Daytrotter session version of “The Loving Sounds of Static.” It’s way different than the original. Providing artwork are our friends in vision, Wyeth Hansen and Ryan Dunn, aka Labour, who also directed both of our videos and are generally awesome.
Vote on Tuesday!
Thanks to the teeming democratic forest of the internet, there are thousands of photos of our band from around the world to peruse. I won’t lie - sometimes, when feeling particularly naval-gaze-y, I peruse away. And surprise! there are some really great photographers out there. I’ve put a few of our favorites together from this winter and spring if you care to take a look.
Between February and June of this year we toured more or less constantly. Not only was this type of non-stop schedule new for us, but most of our time was spent in England and mainland Europe, places we’d never been as a band. There were a lot of new people and places to encounter and, as with any tour that doesn’t end with someone in jail or stranded at the side of a highway, the simple fact that all the impossible logistics worked out so well was genuinely shocking.
We had such a good time getting to know these places and bands. When I remembered to I would take a picture. These photos are from those two UK/EU tours - with Editors and Tokyo Police Club - skipping (for now) our States-side spring tour with Cut Copy and Black Kids, which was also great. If I had to rank my favorite sports (something I’d be better equipped to do circa 12 years old anyway - rock and roll stole the sporting impulse from me at a young age), American football would be a few long country paces from the top. However - turn real life into a 1991 Nintendo game and I will gladly shout from the Belgian rooftops that Super Tecmo Bowl is the most satisfying waste of time ever.
In the context of a tour, what makes Tecmo so good is season mode, wherein your assignment is to guide a group of overpaid, heavily licensed, and maximally juiced up pro ballers to the early-digital Super Bowl that is their purpose.
